Red kidney beans, as known as rajma in India & Nepal, are little kidney shaped beans with dark reddish colour. It has mild nutty taste and savoury aroma and is mostly popular in Mexican dishes such as chilli con carne, burritos and Indian & Nepalese dish. When cooked it has a firm texture and holds the shape hence good for soups and simmering dishes. These beans are good source of protein, fibre and contains iron and folate.
